Over at Do Not Depart this month, we’re studying Isaiah 55 deeper. Many folks have been memorizing Isaiah 55 this year with HideHisWord and Do Not Depart. With it on our brains and hearts, we decided to dive deeper and drink of the overflowing wisdom found within it.
In preparation for my post later in the month, I’m rereading Isaiah 55 several times this week. All the verses warrant extra study, but Isaiah 55:8-9 catch my attention at every read through:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
These verses remind me of my smallness. In a good way. They remind me of His higher power. My shoulders ease as I remember I don’t have to bear the weight of all the world. God is here. I can let go of my lack of understanding and instead trust.
It’s all so easy to say, yet so much harder to do. But every time I read these verses, I remember again.
I made an image to help remind me of these verses and their impact. The background phrases in this image are from verse 6 before it.

How do you remember God’s higher power?
